The Storyline
A few months after the imprisonment of Ganondorf, Link heads off to search for his fairy friend, Navi. Travelling on his horse Epona, Link rides his steed through the Lost Woods looking in every grove for Navi. Instead of finding his small winged friend, Link encounters two troublesome fairies named Tatl and Tael.
Tatl and Tael scare Epona and Link falls off knocking him out cold. Out of the mists in the dark bough, a Skull Kid appears wearing a scary mask. As this mysterious creature searches through Link's pockets, he finds the Ocarina of Time and starts playing it. The young Hylian wakes up to the sight of the fairies and the masked robber fighting over the instrument. The Skull Kid turns around and tries to hide the ocarina, but Link lunges at him almost knocking creature flat.
Without warning, the Skull Kid hops onto Epona and gallops away with Link and the two fairies hot on his heels. After making a sharp turn, Link is thrown to the ground and watches helplessly as the thieves run through a log tunnel.
Link gets up and runs as fast as he can through the bushes and small trees before falling into a gulley. Link wakes up again with the Skull Kid and his two accomplices laughing at the fallen hero. Now Link learns the mask the troubled child is wearing is none other than Majora's Mask and that its power is feeding the Skull Kid.
Without warning, the Skull Kid places a curse on Link which turns him into a Deku Scrub. Now trapped in a body made of wood, the young Hylian looks on as a laughing Skull Kid flies out the door leaving him and Tatl behind.
Now working with Tatl, Link makes his way to the land of Termina where he learns that the moon is about to fall on the bustling city of Clocktown. As well, the Skull Kid has cast the whole populace into darkness by meddling with the citizens' daily lives. And what makes things even scarier, the people look like those Link has met in Hyrule. Link only has 72 hours to stop the moon from crashing and untying all the people's problems.
